Sunshine Coast Bears 

The Sunshine Coast is home to bears and a variety of wildlife. From the water’s edge to the top of Mount Elphinstone, from West Howe Sound to Egmont and beyond, is coastal black bear habitat. Occasionally even grizzlies find their way into the area. Bears can show up on hiking trails, in campsites, and even in our own backyards. 

The goal of the Sunshine Coast Bear Alliance is to reduce negative human/bear interactions through education, replace fear with respect and promote safe coexistence between residents, visitors and bears,
